I am one who enjoys the thought of a community of peers who judge your works based on experiences of their own. I do not, however, like how newgrounds chooses to do it, as it leaves room for massive error.
What happens here when you submit a new flash is that it is ruthlessly rated into the ground by preteens and teenagers, the majority of whom have never worked a second in adobe flash, nor are either intelligent enough or have the attention span to do so constructively and instead post gems like "theres no point" and "this sucks".
Does there have to be a point? Do they really understand that to make even a looping four frame flash, it will take about an hour to do so?
The criticisms here are made by children who have no knowledge or understanding of the art that they are judging, ruthlessly clicking 0 and 1 stars on flashes they can't even begin to understand. Instead they click for a points system to a pointless message board game, burying the very users that they are supposed to be supporting.
I can't say I enjoy the ratings system here, however, this is the only medium that is pertinent to flashes, and so I shall endure.
